The overall aim of the Joburg Squash Foundation is to address social issues by making squash accessible to young people from disadvantaged communities to increase their chances of achieving success in life.

Beyond these Walls: The Gazankulu Squash Court Story is a documentary commissioned by the Joburg Squash Foundation to showcase squash development in Johannesburg, South Africa.
South Africa has one of the worst youth unemployment and youth literacy rates in the world. In the face of this, the Joburg Squash Foundation is determined to make a difference in the lives of the underprivileged using squash as a vehicle for positive change.
The documentary follows two young, impoverished squash players as they take on the country’s top players and as they grapple with the harsh realities of growing up in poverty. The documentary also highlights the role played by EgoliSquash Youth Empowerment in the development of squash in impoverished areas of Johannesburg and features Dikana Mtombeni the CEO of Egoli Youth Empowerment and a member of the Joburg Squash Committee.
